Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum

USCG ICEBREAKER MACKINAW WAGB-83 “An American Hero Story”. “The Queen of the Great Lakes” was built as part of the war effort during World War II to meet the heavy demands of war materials and transportation during the winter months. Decommissioned in 2006, she now resides at her namesake home of Mackinaw City, Michigan, and is open for public tours and group events. Visit the Mess Deck, Engine Room, offices and more and hear the story of the Mackinaw’s 62-year career breaking ice on the Great Lakes and serving as a goodwill ambassador throughout the region.

Jack Pine Lumberjack Shows

Jack Pine Lumberjack Show is a journey back into the last 1800’s when logging was king in the Northwood Michigan. Watch as two rival camps compete for the title of “Bull of the Woods” in chopping, logrolling and more. Shows 7 days a week at 7:30pm. Covered grandstands; shows perform rain or shine. Great fun for all ages.

MUSEUM SHIP VALLEY CAMP The historic 1917 Museum Ship VALLEY CAMP offers more than just a tour of the upper deck. In addition to touring the crew’s quarters, pilot house, & engine room the VALLEY CAMP has over 20,000 square feet of exhibit space inside its massive cargo holds. More than 100 exhibits are featured including the huge fresh-water aquariums, the Edmund Fitzgearld lifeboats and memorial. Take a glimpse into the crew’s working conditions as you tour all three levls of this 550 ft lake freighter. TOWER OF HISTORY Soaring 21 stories over the surrounding landscape, The Tower of History provides a stunning panoramic view of the Soo Locks, St. Mary’s River & Canadian wilderness. Featured on the lower level are local artifacts and a historical video of Sault Ste. Marie.

Mackinac Island Butterfly House

Located behind Ste. Anne’s Church on Mackinac Island. We fly 800+ live butterflies in a tropical garden. Photography encouraged. Wheelchair and stroller friendly. Admissions 13 and up $7.00, 5-12 $4.00,4 and under free.

Mackinac Old Time Trolley Company

Mackinaw’s Newest and Largest Trolley with $3 historical tour! Enjoy the sights and sounds of historic Mackinaw City on the Mackinac Old Time Trolley. Our affordable narrated historical tour has numerous pickup and drop-off stops along the route and features solid oak interior and cushioned seats. Come along for the ride! We are available for custom charters as well as weddings and special events.

Mackinaw Area Historical Society

An Education Destination
Experience the years of great change from candles to electricity all the way to trains quieted by airplanes. Visitors enjoy an exciting trip back in time, experiencing the sights, sounds and smells from centuries ago when they venture onto the Village grounds. Programming has been created for ALL types of visitors including families, school groups and area residents. Docents are available for guided tours on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Admission is by donation. All are welcome.
