Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse

This is Mackinac.

A point in the storm and a guiding beacon since 1889, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse helped passing ships navigate through the treacherous waters of the Straits of Mackinac. There’s just as much to see from the top of the tower as inside the original buildings. Authentically restored quarters and exhibits, including the original lens, a movie, Shipwrecks of the Straits, and the Straits of Mackinac Shipwreck Museum make this “Castle of the Straits” a true gem of the Great Lakes.

Soo Locks Upper St. Mary’s River Lighthouse Cruise

Enjoy a continental breakfast while riding through the Soo Locks and navigating in the St.Mary’s River. Explore this important waterway and see the variety of lighthouses and navigation markers leading ships to the Soo Locks from Lake Superior. You will see the Point Iroquois Lighthouse, Gros Cap Reefs Light Station, the remains of Round Island Lighthouse, and many other interesting sights. This 4.5 hour cruise departs at 8:00 a.m. on selected dates from Dock #2, 515 E. Portage Ave. The U.S. Coast Guard inspected ship is equipped with a climate controlled lower deck, restrooms, and snack bar. Box lunches are available with advance reservations. Ugly Anne

Open May ~ October

Departs daily 45 minutes before sunset. Each evening Ugly Anne will set sail, giving you the best seat in the house to watch the sunset over Lake Michigan while traveling under the Mackinac Bridge.

Ugly Anne boat tours will open the Thursday before Memorial Day. We will have a daily 5pm history cruise and sunset cruise both going under the Mackinac Bridge, departing from Mackinaw City. Mackinac Island cruises will be scheduled by reservation only. Charter opportunities are available from both Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island. Other charter locations may be available upon request.
